To assist your office in undertaking a portfolio analysis, a
combination of the following tools can be used:
- Portfolio
Scan matrix - use this table to map your projects. Look at
the examples as well as the comments in the heading of each column.
This initial scan shall help you determine:
- Which projects should be compliant with the RMG and in
which order of priority.
- Which on-going projects should be "converted"
and to which extent, i.e. should all compliance points be
applied, and do these project need re-structuring..
- To populate this table, you can use the following reporting
tools:
- Atlas
Snapshot - at the country level, the Snapshot will provide
a list of development projects for your office.
- Resource
Planning Framework - An Atlas report that can also be
used to get a list development project already approved and
those pending approval. Run the report against the fund node
"1_DEV" to get a list of all development projects.
- Conversion
Plan by Process and Deliverable - Taking the current status
(process: justifying, defining, initiating, running or closing)
of your project as the starting point, use this matrix to determine
the immediate scope of work required in terms of Management products
to be produced for the current process stage.
